We propose a novel planar slot‐array antenna fed by a new guiding structure which forces a quasi‐TEM mode within an oversized rectangular waveguide. To achieve a quasi‐TEM mode throughout the waveguide a hard surface is placed on the bottom surface of the waveguide while the radiating slots are at the upper face.
